Lovely Homey Italian Restaurant in Deansgate – Cibo

A cosy simple Italian bistro in the heart of Manchester

Cibo is part of the Don Giovanni family of restaurants which means that quality can be assured. S had seen so many good reviews about this place, therefore S went to visit while there was 50% off. The restaurant is located quite close to the Deansgate tram station which is near the Science and Industry Museum.

The interior gave S a homey and warm feeling after she entered the restaurant. The water was served straight after the staff took S to her seat. This is quite important since you have to ask for the tap water specifically at Don Giovanni, otherwise they will provide you bottled water.

The menus can be found on their website and there are various types of menus, but this time S was after their main menu. The Naples (£10.5), Risotto Di Mare(£14.5) and Tagliatelle Al Funghi (£11.95) were the dishes S had that day.

Who would order garlic bread if they could have Naples pizza as a starter? The Naples pizza contains spicy salami, beef, chicken and parma ham. So if you a meat lover like S, you would definitely enjoy this pizza! The pizza crust was crunchy and the base was not too thick, and the size was prefect for 2 people to share as a starter.

After finishing the starter, there was quite a long wait for the mains the day S visited. However, the mains didn’t disappoint her. The Risotto Di Mare was delicious, but the flavour was not as rich as the one S had in Don Giovanni. Yet it was still a delicious dish and the risotto did absorb the juice properly.

As you may already know, S really loves any dishes with funghi. The flavour of the sauce of the Tagliatelle Al Funghi from Cibo was very rich, S was really satisfied after the first bite. However, since the sauce was that rich, it was a bit difficult for S to finish.

Overall, it’s a really simple and homey Italian restaurant. Since it’s under the Don Giovanni umbrella, you won’t need to worry about the taste or quality. Especially if you come here while the 50% off discount is on, it’s definitely worth the price! If you’re around Deansgate and want some Italian food, Cibo should be one of your choices!
