Pork belly is one of the meat I like to cook the most in my recipe, because you can make either a quick stir fry dish like sticky belly pork or a slow braised pork depending on how much time you have and your mood! ⠀
The recipe today is something super easy and quick that you can make it after work. You can eat it with some rice or noodles if you like. It’s also quite a guilt free dish since you don’t need to use any oil on this, but only use the natural fat from the pork belly!
Ingredients
- 600g pork belly⠀
- 4-5 cloves of garlic⠀
- 2 sprigs of spring onions ⠀
- 3 slices of ginger ⠀
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 1-2 Chilli
Instructions
- Use a medium heat to heat up the pan and then turn down to simmer after adding the sliced belly pork until the skin turns gold on both sides⠀
- Add spring onions (white bit), sliced ginger, garlic and sugar and stir them together until the sugar dissolves⠀
- Add the soy sauce and cook until the sauce thickens
- Add the chilli and the spring onion (green bit) and stir for a minute
